  25.  A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
  26.  directories. This draft is a work item of the Uniform Resource Names
  27.  Working Group of the IETF.
  28.
  29.        Title     : Namespace Identifier Requirements for URN Services
  30.        Author(s) : R. Iannella, P. Faltstrom
  31.        Filename  : draft-ietf-urn-nid-req-00.txt
  32.        Pages     : 3
  33.        Date      : 03/27/1997
  34.
  35. Services that offer to resolve Uniform Resource Names implicitly require
  36. that they support a persistent and reliable service for an indeterminate
  37. length of time. This draft outlines the requirements for any such service
  38. that wishes to participate as a Namespace Identifier.
  39.
  40. Internet-Drafts are available by anonymous FTP.  Login with the username
  41. "anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address.  After logging in,
  42. type "cd internet-drafts" and then
  43.      "get draft-ietf-urn-nid-req-00.txt".
  44. A URL for the Internet-Draft is:
  45. ftp://ds.internic.net/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-urn-nid-req-00.txt
  46.
  47. Internet-Drafts directories are located at:
  48.
  49.      o  Africa:  ftp.is.co.za
  50.
  51.      o  Europe:  ftp.nordu.net
  52.                  ftp.nis.garr.it
  53.
  54.      o  Pacific Rim: munnari.oz.au
  55.
  56.      o  US East Coast: ds.internic.net
  57.
  58.      o  US West Coast: ftp.isi.edu
  59.
  60. Internet-Drafts are also available by mail.
  61.
  62. Send a message to:  mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
  63.      "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-urn-nid-req-00.txt".
  64.
  65. NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
  66.       MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility.  To use this
  67.       feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
  68.       command.  To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
  69.       a MIME-compliant mail reader.  Different MIME-compliant mail readers
  70.       exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
  71.       "multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
  72.       up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
  73.       how to manipulate these messages.
  74.
  75.
  76.
  77. Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
  78. implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
  79. of the Internet-Draft.
